LOCATION: The southern walls of Peca
The wall is well kept as a climbing area for sports climbers. It is located under the south walls of Peca near Črna na Koroškem. In the wall there are around 68 climbing directions the evaluations of which revolve between 3 and 8c, and their lenght between 6 and 55 meters. At the same time this is an important living environment for a few endagered species of birds, which found a safe place to protect their nests from predators in the stone walls. More than 230 million years ago numerous algae from the bottom of the sea formed into limestone which make the Burjak wall today. Later, mostly in the times of the rising of the Alps these lime stones wrinkled, broke and rose which created a wall that today carries the name of a nearby farm. The Burjak wall is a mighty monument of the geological forming past and is therefore assigned as a geological and morphological natural value.
