Bistra Valley BISTRA is the first beautiful Alp valley in the upper Mežiška valley which is worth our attention. It is surrounded by rich spruce forests. This valley has always had a very rich and developed art of beekeeping. Everywhere in the area one can find old beehives typical for the region of Koroška, which are a speciality of the area as most of them have been preserved here. For tourists Ježevo will be an attractive location where one can find the lodge of the hunting community of Bistra from Črna na Koroškem. There are also giant spruce trees that can be found on Ježevo called ‘’svečniki’’ (candlesticks) which are natural attractions of this beautiful valley. In Bela peč, high in the mountain above Rigelnik was once a Partisan hospital B/11 – Pepca which was re-furnished in 1984 with props and since then it has been open to the public as a museum.

A natural attraction of the valley is also a high number of very old and rare tree types, the highest number going to Bistra for the giant lime trees. The lively mountain stream Bistra which foams between the rocks made from tonalite is certainly worthy of its beautiful name. It is beautiful in the summer but perhaps even more beautiful in the winter when the cold shapes it into ice sculptures and crystals.

Mountain and tourist paths all lead all the way to the mountain backs Komna (1694 m), Travnik (1637m) and Bela peč (White rock) (1465 m). To the pass Spodnje Sleme there is a forest road, but across the pass this road leads to Solčava and Logarska valley. This road has a branch which leads to the highest farm in Slovenia, the Bukovnik farm (1327 m) which belongs to the area of Mozirje. From the farm Bukovnik is the most comfortable approach to the mountain Raduha.
